We all have heard the saying, “Build your house on the rock.” This is part of our mission. We think about the foundation of your renovation long before the end product. With a solid foundation, you will have a long-lasting finished product. Most people only focus on what they can see—the finishes, the fixtures, the final look. But no matter how nice the finished product is, if the foundation is not built correctly, it will eventually fail.

This philosophy applies to every project we take on—but nowhere is it more critical than in a bathroom renovation. Bathrooms are exposed to constant moisture, daily use, and heavy wear. If the structure behind the walls and under the floor isn’t built right, problems will show up quickly—cracked tile, leaks, mold, and costly repairs.

It starts with framing. We make sure the framing is solid and there is plenty of “meat” to properly support and attach the finished materials. In bathrooms specifically, we go a step further—adding extra studs where shower doors will be installed and installing 2”x10” blocking between studs to create solid anchor points for future grab bars and accessories.

Next is the subfloor. We make sure it is strong, level, and properly secured to prevent any flexing. Even slight movement in a bathroom floor can lead to cracked grout and tile failure over time.

Shower waterproofing is one of the most critical components of a bathroom renovation. We use what we believe is the best waterproofing system on the market. Our system is 100% waterproof throughout—not just water-resistant—and it’s backed by a full manufacturer’s warranty. This ensures your shower remains watertight for years to come.

Once the structure is sound, tile installation becomes the focus. Proper installation is critical. We ensure each tile is fully “buttered” to achieve maximum coverage and adhesion. This creates a solid bond and prevents voids that can lead to cracking or failure.

Drywall installation is another step that often gets overlooked but plays a major role in the final outcome. We minimize seams wherever possible and ensure proper installation techniques are followed. A well-hung drywall surface leads to a cleaner, smoother finish.

When it comes to paint, we use the proper primer on new drywall to promote adhesion and help prevent mold and mildew growth—especially important in a high-moisture environment like a bathroom.

Finally, ventilation ties everything together. Proper airflow is essential to maintaining the integrity of the space. We install high-CFM exhaust fans designed to effectively remove moisture from the air, helping to protect your investment and keep your bathroom dry and healthy.

At the end of the day, a beautiful bathroom is only as good as what’s behind it. We build every project with that in mind—because the foundation is what makes everything else last.
